There was a problem with Indian spices
Hi, I’m Jagadeesh, and Indian heritage and traditions have always been close to my heart. While living in London and working for a supermarket chain, I made it a habit to ask customers about their preferences—what they loved most about Indian food and the spices they used. One thing caught my attention: many people weren’t buying spices from Indian brands.
Curious, I dug deeper and asked why. The responses were eye-opening. People told me they had lost trust in Indian spices, citing concerns about purity and quality. They spoke of chemical contamination, artificial additives, and a lack of authenticity—issues that made them turn to spices from other countries.
That realization hit hard. The rich aroma, vibrant flavors, and unmatched purity that had once defined Indian spices were now being overshadowed by adulteration and shortcuts. This wasn’t just a loss of reputation; it was a loss of trust in a tradition that had stood the test of time.
I knew something had to change. Determined to bring back the authenticity and quality that Indian spices are known for, I decided to go back to the roots. By reconnecting with farmers, embracing sustainable practices, and prioritizing purity above all, I set out to restore faith in the true essence of Indian spices.
